Lash Lifts

What to Expect

Lash lifts are a great alternative to wearing false lashes or lash extensions. Lash lifts are equivalent to a perm for your lashes, leaving you with lifted lashes giving an appearance of fullness and brightening the eye.  Prior to your visit, please eliminate the use of waterproof mascara at least a week in advance, arrive to your appointment with clean lashes.  A patch test of the lift solutions is highly recommended 24 hours prior to your lift.  Please call or text to schedule your very brief visit for patch testing.  The process itself will take an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.  Lashes are glued to a rod, the first chemical process softens and makes the hairs flexible while the second chemical process sets the hairs in place.  After your visit, you should not get your lashes wet for at least 24 hours.  This includes steam so no hot tubs, steam rooms, sweating and pay special attention to your mask use as the heat and moisture from your breath may rise.  No eye makeup for 24 hours as well.  Beyond that, your aftercare should include avoiding sleeping with your face against the pillow, cleansing your lashes with an oil free cleanser, and conditioning your lashes with either a product formulated for lash conditioning (which we carry for retail purchase) or castor oil.  This step is imperative in order to keep the lashes from drying out and maintaining the integrity of the lashes.  Your lash lift should last 6-8 weeks, in some cases longer, depending on lash growth.  Speaking of lash growth, your lashes will continue to grow during the 6-8 weeks between lash lifts.  You will notice new lashes that will have the same growth pattern as they always have, lacking the lift.  If desired, you can carefully curl those lashes with a traditional lash curler.  With proper maintenance and care you should enjoy lovely lashes for the 6-8 period between lifts.
